AdvisoryThe OES middle school has started an advisory program this year. This is a time for students to meet in small groups to build relationships and a sense of community among their peers through discussions, games, and other activities.

Winter ActivitiesAs part of the physical education curriculum students participate in our winter activities program. Students choose from skiing and snowboarding at Burke Mountain, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing at Craftsbury Outdoor Center, or ice skating at Fenton Chester Arena in Lyndon.

TeambuildingAt the beginning of the school year students get the opportunity to explore kayaking on Lake Willoughby and hiking on Mount Pisgah. These experiences help students become more familiar with the wonderful outdoor areas of their community, expand their comfort zones with trying new things, and build stronger relationships with their peers.

Christmas Activities DayDuring the last day before December break, students participated in a variety of special activities to prepare for the upcoming holidays. These activities included baking, crafts, games, and centerpiece making.

Farm to SchoolThroughout the school year students work with Farm to School Teachers to plant and harvest our two school gardens, create delicious side dishes for their fellow students through food preparation and taste tests, and explore farm and agriculture based programming through lessons and field trips.
